Can this ratchet wrench remove car wheel nuts?
It is not intended for that job. Wheel nuts on most passenger cars are torqued well above the 61Nm this tool produces, and they should be loosened with a breaker bar or an impact wrench and retightened with a calibrated torque wrench. Use this ratchet for the lighter fasteners around the vehicle instead.
How long does a battery last on one charge?
Runtime depends on the torque demanded by each fastener and how continuously you work. Two 12V packs are supplied so one can charge while the other is in use, and the three-stage indicator in the grip shows when it is time to swap.
How do I switch between tightening and loosening?
A selector on the ratchet head is marked F and R. Turn it to one side to drive the fastener in and to the other side to back it out. The change takes a moment and can be done without putting the tool down.
Will it fit into tight engine bays?
The ratchet head measures 3.5cm across, which is the dimension that determines access. It reaches many fasteners that a hand ratchet handle cannot swing on, though clearance always depends on the specific vehicle or assembly.
Can it be used as a manual ratchet if the battery runs flat?
Ratchet wrenches of this design are operated under power rather than by hand leverage. Keep the second battery charged so you are not left without a working tool part way through a job.
