Frequently asked questions
Is 14 km/h fast enough for running rather than just walking?
Yes. A speed of 14 km/h equates to roughly a 4 minute 17 second kilometre, which covers walking, jogging and steady running for most home users. Competitive sprint intervals above that pace would need a higher-specification machine.
How much space does it take when folded away?
Folded upright, the JC850D occupies under one square metre of floor. The deck lifts against the upright frame and the front transport wheels let you roll it into a corner or against a wall.
How does the incline adjustment work?
Incline is set manually using a pin bracket beneath the rear of the deck. You stop the belt, reposition the pin to the gradient you want, and the deck holds that angle for the session.
What does the console display during a workout?
Three LED windows show calories, elapsed time, pulse, speed and distance. Touch keys along the panel handle start, stop, mode, programme selection and the 3, 6, 9 and 12 km/h speed presets.
Is the belt wide enough to run on comfortably?
The belt itself measures 420mm across, with 130mm anti-slip side rails on each side bringing the full platform to 680mm. The rails give you somewhere secure to stand when starting, pausing or stepping off.
